Ledaig Aged 20 Years refill sherry barrel, cask no. FAP-1801, dist 24 Mar 97, bott 27 Feb 18 (86.5)
n21.5 t22 f21.5 b21.5 A very interesting Ledaig made at a time when things in the still house were not perhaps as they are now.
There is evidence this was not brought slowly to boil as the thinness of the body matches the bite which is further sharpened by the strength.
Even after 20 years the grape and smoke have yet to make peace with the other and rather than forging a harmonised, balanced dram, our palate is used as little more than a battleground.
Certainly not short on character, though! 60.7%.
