Glentauchers 12Y – 58.1%
We have bottled our 12 year old Glentauchers, which have aged on a 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel, at full cask strength of 58.1%. There came 224 bottles of 70cl along with 24 bottles of 20cl.
We have previously sold cask shares in this cask, as “Cask share #025”. The remaining 70cl bottles that were not sold in shares are currently reserved for a club. Should the club not take them all, they will also be for sale here at the shop.
In Jim Murray’s whisky Bible 2023, this 12-year-old Glentauchers 1st Fill Bourbon has received a whopping 95 points out of a possible 100, which has meant that it has received a Liquid Gold Reward Which we are very happy and proud of. With this comment: If you are looking for a 12-year-old Speyside of breath-taking, star quality…then you’ve just found it. You know, I just can’t find a single fault with this one…
Customer comment: Really delicious whisky, which is “pure” in taste. With a few drops of water, the tingling sensation is removed, making it a very easily drinkable whisky. It is with such a whisky that you really get the opportunity to appreciate Speyside when they do not store their whisky on sherry butts or the like…
