Cameronbridge 28Y – 42.2%
This bottling from the Cameronbridge distillery, which is bottled by Claxton’s, has been bottled at a cask strength of 42.2%, after having been put on a PX barrel for 28 years.
With this bottling, you get not only the largest but also the oldest Grain whisky distillery in Scotland.
The distillery was built in 1824 and has an annual capacity of 100,000,000 liters pure alcohol per year.
This dram is sweet, fruity and very accessible. It is reminiscent of the very popular 32 year old Dumbarton, who Claxton’s bottled some time ago. A “dangerous”, very easy to drink, and a perfect Christmas dream.
